Chizzy reigned supreme at the Alexandra Palace,
thrashing Kim Huybrechts 4-0. It means that Chisnall is now in the last 16 of the
PDC World Championship, and due to face Jamie Lewis for a quarter-final spot. The 12th seed put the convincing win down to extra practice, on his wife's orders.
"I have to listen to her, she's the boss!" he joked.
"She goes to work, and says to me 'Two or three hours' practice'. And I've actually done that, and it's worked."
Chisnall quickly took a 2-0 lead in his third round clash with Huybrechts. While plenty of players have squandered such a lead already in this year's World Championship, the St Helens ace felt in the right frame of mind to force home the advantage.
"When I went 2-0 up, I was just thinking 'keep your darts straight. This is your game'.
"At the end of the day, it's best of seven (sets). So when I was two up, I still had two sets to win," he said.
A very solid 97.60 average across four sets saw Chisnall across the line. It was an overall clinical showing, and would stand him in good stead against Lewis, who
punished a sub-par Daryl Gurney in the game immediately following Chisnall's on Saturday afternoon.
"There were some bad darts, some good darts, but it got me through in the end," surmised the 38-year-old.
"I just felt so good up there. My finishing was quite good."
