Joe Cullen avoided an early exit at the European Darts Open as he came back from 0-3 behind against Danny Noppert. The Dutchman missed one dart to take a 4-0 lead, which was heavily punished later.

'The Rockstar' hit a 88 finish to make four all in the eighth leg, before winning the deciding leg to beat Noppert. Alan Norris and Mervyn King booked victories against Jermaine Wattimena and Gabriel Clemens. Chris Dobey knocked out the fourth seeded player of the day, as 'Hollywood' beat Kim Huybrechts 6-2.
