The first European Tour event was completed on Sunday with Michael van Gerwen winning another title in Leverkusen this time defeating Peter Wright in the final.
Despite it being only one event in we do have the current Order of Merit for the European Tour with minimum earnings applied for players taking part.
Due to their deep runs in Leverkusen the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and James Wade are basically assured of their qualification for the European Championship.
The likes of Richard North, Krzysztof Ratajski and Luke Humphries are up there due to for the latter the amount of events they are entered into.
It has to be said though that they will probably all need another good run though to definitely assure them of it but it is looking likely they could be there.
The European Tour next stops in Munich this weekend so it will be interesting to see how these standings change after that.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media.
