Gary Anderson seals fourth seed at World Matchplay after UK Open win

Gary Anderson looks set to be the number four seed at the World Matchplay.

The two-time world champion added to his list of major triumphs on Sunday. Despite lacking the chants of "oh, Gary Gary" normally afforded to him by friendly crowds, Anderson won the UK Open at a near-empty Butlin's Minehead. His 11-7 triumph over Corey Cadby landed him the £70,000 top prize.
Winnings from the UK Open cements fourth spot in the World Matchplay Order of Merit. Anderson sits more than £100,000 ahead of fifth seed Daryl Gurney. The Flying Scotsman will head to Blackpool looking to take the Phil Taylor trophy. Beaten finalist Cadby looks likely to attend, given his Pro Tour Order of Merit standing. Most at risk are Alan Norris, whose Pro Tour earnings would not save him if he falls out of the world's top 16, and Pro Tour Order of Merit 16th seed Jermaine Wattimena.
