Germany have sent their home crowd into raptures by defeating Northern Ireland for a second straight year in the World Cup of Darts. Like last year it went to the doubles decider and it was Hopp who hit the winning double to once again send them into the Quarter-Finals.

The Northern Irish pair would have had good hopes for the match when Gurney smashed Martin Schindler 6-0 with 66% on the doubles for the World Grand Prix champion.
Hopp though threw it back into the balance by defeating Brendan Dolan in a close affair so as they wanted they went to the pairs. They then stunned Dolan and Gurney again with a 4-2 win to potentially set up a clash with Netherlands.
