Daryl Gurney was one of two players last night to hand Raymond van Barneveld a defeat and it was ‘Superchin’s best performance so far in the league putting him closer to a play off place.
He averaged 103.04 hitting five maximums and afterwards he admitted he is really happy with the result and that the practice is paying off for him now.
With Gurney becoming a father last week as well it meant he was even more happy to collect two points as he hasn’t practiced this week.
"I'm really happy with the result," said the World Grand Prix champion.
"As long as I got something out of the game I was going to be pleased as I've not had much practice over the last week.
"I'm a big practiser so it does have an effect, but I got the job done. The 121 hurt him and you could see that in the next leg, and it was important for me at that time in the match."
