Ahead of the 2018 World Championship starting on Thursday night, we look back at last years event courtesy of PDC's new statistical analyst, Christopher Kempf a.k.a Ochepedia.
It reveals that the players first of all turned it on when it really mattered with all of them in either the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals or the final between Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.
That final registered a combined average of 118.70 which was second only to the amazing semi-final between Michael and Raymond van Barneveld which had a combined average of 122.92 with both players averaging over 120 and it was well known for Barney having the highest losing average ever with him taking over the mantle from Cristo Reyes who got it against the same player a few days prior.
Most of them include either MVG or Anderson with Ando's matches vs the likes of Peter Wright as well as two of the sets being in that final showing how high quality it is.
It is bound to rise this year due to the high standard and introduction of such players as Rob Cross who if he doesn't go out early doors is bound to provide the fireworks at the Alexandra Palace alongside the men below did last year.
