Raymond van Barneveld that he sees Rob Cross as the new Phil Taylor. 'Voltage' could appreciate the compliment of 'Barney' and now also believes that an English succession to the throne is within the possibilities. "Or can I dominate as Phil Taylor did a period? I feel that way. Yes, then I have to pass Michael van Gerwen and that is quite a job. But I feel that he has reached his peak ", says Cross in conversation with the AD. "He has shown weak spots in the duels with Gerwyn Price and with me. And I know that I can still grow, maybe 30 percent", it sounds optimistic with the brand new world champion. The pronouncements of Cross may appear arrogant, but it does not sound like that from the mouth of the 27-year-old Englishman. Cross sincerely thinks that it is a realistic goal. "When I lost to Michael van Gerwen's last 32 on my first Euro Tour at the last 32, I knew I could do a lot better than what I showed there. Then that idea came into my mind. And now that I have won the World Championship, I have the confirmation that it is really possible. That gives me even more hunger for more. And I've never been able to do anything against my loss, that helps too."
