Jamie Lewis knocked out the in-form
Jonny Clayton in a 3-0 victory in the all-Welsh battle between the qualifier in the form of Lewis and Clayton who has had a brilliant year including reaching his first major final.
Lewis started off with a win over Kenny Neyens in a quality affair in the preliminary round before coming out to complete the job and reach the second round and afterwards he spoke about his year on the tour and how he needs to kick on.
"I've been in the
PDC now for five years and I've still not really shown what I know I can do," admitted Lewis. "It is about time I do it so hopefully this week might be the chance.
"I've not had a great year on the tour. I thought I'd blown it and I had one chance left at Milton Keynes in the qualifiers so I thought I'd go and give it my best because I know I can play as good as anybody."
