Adrian Lewis is seen as an outside bet by Colin Lloyd to claim the title at the Winter Gardens as the World Matchplay approaches in just over a weeks time.

Lloyd sees Lewis as a dangerous player and someone who is starting to believe in himself again which means he could be in with a shout. He also sees Michael van Gerwen his potential second round opponent as someone who has to do a professional job and if they both up their game, Lloyd sees it being the game of the championship. "I think my outside bet would be Adrian Lewis," Lloyd told Live Darts. "Adie's starting to throw some good stuff again and he's starting to believe in himself again. "He's a dangerous player but I think everybody's going to be writing Michael van Gerwen's name on it, but we'll wait and see." He added on the potential of a second round clash between Van Gerwen and Lewis: "I think Michael's got to be professional about it, he knows Adrian's a class player so hopefully he'll be up for the game but I'm really hoping Adrian's up for the game as well because if he is then that will be the game of the championship. "But they both have to win their first games first."
