Three time World Champion, John Lowe has been recognised for his services to darts and charity in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.
He receives an MBE and joins other former Darts World Champions to receive the award previously in Trina Gulliver and his late great rival and friend Eric Bristow.
Lowe who claimed his World titles in three separate decades spoke to the PDC and called it an honour and something that took a while to sink in.
"I was away in Cyprus on holiday when the letter arrived and my son passed on the message, and I couldn't believe it to be quite honest," said Lowe.
"It took a while to sink in and I think it will only become real when I go to the Palace and collect the award.
"It's such an honour for me and a wonderful thing to receive."

- It is simply not true to say that these 5 players are guaranteed to keep their Tour Cards. At least Karel Sedlacek, Dylan Slavin and Stephen Burton are in danger of losing them, especially if they fail to win their first round match.
