Michael van Gerwen is unsurprisingly the odds-on favourite to claim a 3rd World title, the World Number 1 has had a stunning end to the year after having some indifferent form in stages and as a result looks set to potentially claim yet another World title.
Gary Anderson is 2nd favourite mainly in part due to his two titles previously on the Alexandra Palace stage and Peter Wright who is a doubt for the tournament after suspected gallstones is 3rd favourite if he can get past the 'Brazilliant' Diogo Portela in the first round.
Phil Taylor is the 4th favourite and might be a good bet in his final World campaign and the same can be said for Raymond van Barneveld who is at 50/1 with Mensur Suljovic and Adrian Lewis and always turns it on with memorable wins over the likes of Michael van Gerwen and the highest losing average against 'Mighty Mike' last year.
Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney also figure at 5th and 6th respectively with both men having stellar years but especially Cross is untested on the Alexandra Palace stage and could falter on his debut while Gurney has experience which could count for something and give him a run which will confirm his outright Premier League debut next year.
