Michael van Gerwen tops seasonal ranking ahead of Peter Wright after Grand Slam win

Michael van Gerwen has topped the seasonal ranking for the first time this season. 'Mighty Mike' has recently come into a hot streak of form after exiting tournaments quite early on in the middle of the year and has since won the World Series of Darts Finals, European Championship and Grand Slam of Darts.
This form is shown as he gazumps Peter Wright for the first time this year who has had a brilliant year. An alarming statistic as you go down the rankings is how far down some of the Premier League participants are for this year in terms of James Wade, Adrian Lewis and Raymond van Barneveld which especially for the former two have not had brilliant years and this shows.
The likes of Krzysztof Ratajski and Zoran Lerchbacher have had great years despite not having tour cards and still figure in the list as does Keegan Brown who has returned to form as of late.
