The likes of Adrian Lewis have ended up with huge declines in the Order of Merit due to the money they have been defending dropping off the Order of Merit. The likes of Josh Payne and Jamie Caven will defend the most up until the end of May it has been revealed.
The Gravesend native in particular has shown some really promising form but is defending 20% of his total between now and then. This only account for just under £14,000 though so it might not affect Payne's ranking as much as it did for Lewis.
For the likes of Jamie Caven as well as further down the likes of Andrew Gilding & Devon Petersen they could find themselves sliding towards going back to Q-School especially for the latter two.
The likes of James Wade and Mensur Suljovic are defending money but due to appearing at most majors and having pretty good form it shouldn't effect them too much in terms of the rankings.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
