Justin Pipe won the final 3 legs in a row to come from behind to defeat Daryl Gurney and book his spot in tonight's final session in Minehead. Gurney was 1 leg away from victory, but couldn't get over the line against the Taunton Ace.
The opening encounters followed a surprising pattern. Both men taking 2 legs at a time, every hold accompanied by a break.
Gurney took the first 2, before Pipe responded in kind with 2 of his own. Again Gurney took the initiative, once again backing up his hold of throw with a break. The pattern continuing all the way until leg 14. With Gurney leading 7-6 Pipe successfully held his throw to level the match.
The Northern Irishman kicked on again taking 2 more legs on the trot. Securing his 4th break of the match and requiring just one ore leg for another major semi-final in what is becoming a remarkable season of consistency for Superchin.
Pipe though, wasn't finished yet, and the local man stepped up to take the next 3 legs on the spin. Gurney wasn't afforded the chance at match darts such was The Force's dominance in the closing stages.
The result sees Justin into his first major Semi-final since 2013, he'll player the winner of the all dutch affair of Michael van Gerwen vs Jan Dekker.
