Smith claims top spot in MODUS Icons of Darts League Group One with ten points

Smith ended the day on five wins and one defeat which amounted to 10 points. The Welshman was consistent all day and this included victories over Diogo Portela (4-2), Keelan Kay (4-0), James Hubbard (4-3).

As well as Jarred Cole (4-1) and he secured it with a 4-3 victory over Martin Adams. His only defeat today came at the hands of Boris Koltsov who claimed a 4-3 win with magnificent checkouts of 150 and 130.

But he finished second in the table after winning four and losing two en route to eight points. Martin Adams ended up third with six points from six losing his final game to Jarred Cole after a solid middle part of the day.

Speaking of Cole, he will only be competing on Monday this week and he finished level with 'Wolfie' on six as did Keelan Kay who perhaps produced the performance of the day in defeating Cole hitting a 107 average and 80 percent on the doubles in a 4-2 win.

Diogo Portela and James Hubbard round out the standings for Day One in sixth and seventh respectively.
