STATS: Plenty of 11-darters at the BDO World Championship

Darts statistician @TheRedBit has run the rule over the action last week at the Lakeside.

A series of tweets looked in depth at the best and worst legs played in the BDO World Championship. And everything in between, of course.
The best leg played at the 2018 championships was an 11-darter. It occurred 26 times during the nine days of play. The first of the tournament came on day two. Scott Waites checked out 92 for the 11-darter which sent Ross Montgomery crashing out. That was one of seven that were hit in the first round - more than any other round. The preliminary round, unsurprisingly, provided the fewest. There was just one 11 dart leg. Glen Durrant managed more in the final, matching the best leg of the week twice as he retained his title.
The worst leg of the week occurred twice; a 28-darter. That is the same as the worst leg at the PDC World Championship, which was won by Martin Schindler against Simon Whitlock. There were 188 legs lasting 15 darts, the most common occurrence at the BDO championships. Following that was 17-dart legs (117) and 18-dart legs (109). Interestingly, there were only 83 legs that were won after 16 darts.
