Van Gerwen after shock defeat to King in Minehead: ‘It really hurts to lose in the UK Open early’

Michael van Gerwen lost out to Mervyn King in a shock defeat for the World Number One who once again has had a poor time in Minehead.
Van Gerwen took to Twitter afterwards and was understandably gutted but gave credit to his opponent.
’It really hurts to lose in the UK Open early. All I can say is the best player won on the night.’
’Credit goes to Mervyn and I can only blame myself. Will take the lessons and come back stronger.’
