Van Gerwen loses prize money after Brexit: 'Costs me ten percent!'

During the press conference after Michael van Gerwen won this third world title, the Brexit was also discussed. The 29-year-old Dutchman is not happy with the political developments in the United Kingdom, he told the British press.
He quickly explained his displeasure as Van Gerwen said the Brexit costs him money. ''Since the Brexit plans has been made, the Pound sterling lost ten percent of his value compared to the Euro'', the world champion - - explained. ''I receive my prize money in Pounds, so it costs me ten percent of my prize money!'' The world number one then asked the attendees if they voted for a Brexit, but they all denied this.
