Ryan Searle claimed victory in the final of Players Championship 3 defeating Michael van Gerwen in an exceptional performance.
For Searle, it was a maiden ranking title as he defeated the World Number One who through defeat to 'Heavy Metal', as well as his compatriot Danny Noppert at Players Championship 4 is still waiting for his first title of the year.
It was a tense and nervy display but one that saw Searle pull away towards the end to cap off an excellent day.
