James Wade squeezed through against Danny Lauby Jnr. last night being 5-3 down surviving match darts which should have sent The Machine out.
The occasion obviously got to the American and for Wade he said he must bring the best out of players after he lost to Dawson Murschell last year.
For the former multiple major champion he said despite that he didn’t play badly and is happy to go forward.
Wade admitted after his brilliant comeback: "I must bring out the best in players.
"He played really well - I didn't play badly but I hit some fortunate finishes and he missed some finishes. I'm happy to go forwards."
