The final is set at Players Championship 8 with James Wade and Ian White set to do battle with the duo who are well known for their prowess on the ProTour battling it out for their first titles of the season.
Both have been the stars of the day after the early exits of the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright who were the top names of a depleted field.
Wade eased past Derk Telnekes 7-2 to plot his route through to the final. A 93 average sealed it for 'The Machine' who has looked back to his best again in some displays today while also paying heed to a brilliant weekend from the Dutchman who is starting to show himself to be a serious contender already.
It is White that awaits him who probably put in his worst performance of the year on the Players Championship series average wise but he didn't need his 105+ heroics in seeing off Kim Huybrechts 7-4 hitting an 89 average in the process. An interesting final awaits at the Metrodome in what could be the last one for a while.
