Whitehead new weekly winner in MODUS Super Series

The eighth week in the MODUS Super Series was won by Conan Whitehead on Saturday evening. He thus secured a ticket for the final week.

The best six players of the first five days met on Saturday during the final day of this week. Usher lost his first group match against Conor Heneghan, but because of his 4-1 win over Moreno Blom he still advanced to the semi-finals.

In the other group, some remarkable thing happened. Andy Hamilton, Lee Shewan and Ryan Furness all won one match with the same leg difference, so a nine-dart shootout had to determine which two players went through.

That became Furness and Hamilton. The former then won 4-2 against Blom in the semi-finals, while Whitehead was too strong for Hamilton (4-1). The win in the final then went to Whitehead 4-1.

Format

Each week, 12 players will compete in multiple groups from Monday to Friday. The best six players advance to the final night on Saturday.

In the thirteenth week of play, the 12 weekly winners battle it out to determine who becomes the MODUS Super Series champion and takes the £20,000 top prize.
