Jonny Clayton produced a 104 average in a superb display to knock out Danny Noppert and begin his defense of the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
"It was nice to look at that average because I played against Danny (Noppert) who I respect totally because he's a fantastic player and he's proven that time after time but it was a slow game. That's the way Danny plays, there's no tactics. I'm happy to be back for a 100+ average," said Clayton to Darts Actueel.
But Clayton hasn't been firing on all cylinders since being in every tournament, despite that though he will keep going with a goal in mind and won't skip upcoming tournaments ahead of the majors.
"I'll be there next week as I've just dropped out of the rankings of the European Tour so I need to get back in. I'm going to be trying my best. It's the end of year which all the big majors are and I need that match practice so I'll be in everything."
"It's been an experience I'll never forget, this is our job. This is what we love doing so I'm going to concentrate, I want to win that World Championship."
