Adams claims victory after beating Taylor in Modus Champions Series
The latest iteration of the MODUS Champions Series has been completed with Martin Adams claiming the honours on leg difference ahead of Phil Taylor.
Adams claimed victories over both Arron Monk (5-1) in which he hit a 98 average, three 180's and two ton-plus finishes to add his first points onto the board. Defeat to Fallon Sherrock though followed that after coming from 4-1 down to be denied with a 130 checkout in the decider.
His big tie followed that though as he saw off Phil Taylor in a 5-2 win with neither play at their best compared to their last clash which saw a 111 average from 'The Power'. This claimed him the win though as Taylor's wins consisted of narrow ones over Arron Monk (5-4) and finally Fallon Sherrock (5-3).
He did finish well though against 'The Queen of the Palace' who is still without a win against 'The Power'. The Stoke-on-Trent ace hit a 99 average and 5/7 on the doubles to end proceedings strongly after not playing at the peak of his powers against 'Wolfie'.
