Former two-time Premier League Darts champion, Gary Anderson will once again set his sights on winning the weekly roadshow when it starts tonight in Cardiff.
Anderson during the Media Day gave his thoughts on the new format in particular.
"It's going to be strange. We're used to playing one game a night so it'll definitely be different but it's just a mini tournament now so we know what to do," said Anderson to Online Darts.
On Cross missing out
Some criticism came with the pick of 'The Flying Scotsman' who spoke about leaving the announcement late as well as Rob Cross and various other players missing out.
"They left it late but I'm one of those ones where no matter what happens, it wouldn't bother me anyways. It's nice to be back, I don't know how many more years I've got in front of me with Premier League," he continued.
"They always say it was a top four, then it was a slalom pick as to who got picked. There will be a lot of players out there like Fallon was going to get a shot as well, he'll (Cross) be cheesed off a bit but he's playing well so I think this season he'll play well again and next one he'll be back in."
He also spoke about having regular game time now and how he believes he has done well in recent years despite missing the European Tour.
"Missing about 40% of the tournaments so yeah it's hard but people don't see that. They just look at the rankings and say he's slipping here or slipping there. They don't go into depth. I still enjoy playing the game of darts, this will probably help me bundles. I'm playing then straight to Barnsley, while before give me four or five weeks off I wouldn't look at a dart board."
