It was a fourth PDC
Women's Series title of the season for
Lisa Ashton who continues to dominate with victory over
Laura Turner in the final.
Ashton spoke afterwards and paid tribute to Turner's ability to fight back after a poor start and show her class on the dart board instead of in the commentary box.
"I'm happy for a good start, first one wasn't good but we got there in the end.
"You can have a good start, you can come back. It only takes one day to get back up there so it's nice to have Laura on our side instead of your side today. She is a cracking player."
There was also a word on Trina Gulliver MBE who sealed her first title. "The old girls have still got something there. We keep trying but it's good to see Trina win the first one. It's interesting."
Turner's thoughts on back-to-back finals
Laura Turner was also involved in the interview and was glad to bounce back with the aim to win one at some point in the future.
"I had no expectations, I had a nightmare the first four Women's Series so to make a final this morning was brilliant and to make another one, I want to be the individual interviewee at one point," said Turner.
She is now up to third in the Order of Merit and could now be up in Blackpool not as a pundit or commentator but as a player.
"If I finish ninth that would be lovely," she joked. "I'd love to be in the Matchplay. A good days work."
