Lisa Ashton has continued her PDC
Women's Series dominance by seeing off Robyn Byrne in the final of Event Two in Barnsley.
Ashton has claimed back-to-back titles today and now has nine overall after seeing off the 24-year-old Irishwoman who has long been touted as a player to watch in these tournaments and fulfilled that promise today albeit losing out in the end to 'The Lancashire Rose'.
En route, she saw off Fallon Sherrock in the semi-finals 5-4, Steph Clarke 4-2, Felicia Blay 4-2, Joanne Locke 4-2 and Rachel Bird 4-0 in what was a tough run on paper but she showed her class again to take a ninth title.
The top eight players after twelve of the twenty tournaments are qualified for the Women's World Matchplay in July. In addition, at the end of the season two more spots can be earned for the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Darts Championship with Ashton leading the way at this early stage.
