Nathan Aspinall lost out to Andrew Gilding in a close defeat which ended 6-4 to 'Goldfinger' but he suffered a plethora of bounceouts en-route which made him voice his frustrations on Twitter about the Unicorn dartboards.

Aspinall deleted the tweet soon after but wrote the following shortly after his defeat at the Czech Darts Open which continues shortly.
'I'm not a bad loser at all but something needs to happen. How many times do players have to complain?'
'Unicorn boards are a disgrace, how many times do players have to suffer before something is done?
'We might earn good money but we are still playing for our wages and family.'
Unicorn Darts will supply the boards for at least the next three years but the current board in the form of the Eclipse HD2 which has been the supplied board since 2016 has received criticism.
Michael Smith in particular also recently despite being sponsored by the manufacturer told the company to sort the boards out; as he had similar problems with darts being accepted.
Edward Lowy, Unicorn Managing Director hit back about this problem a few weeks back and blamed 'aggressively machined points' for this. It is unknown whether these boards will be changed; but this will likely have to be looked into if the criticism continues.
