Baltic Sea Darts Open is 700th tournament in PDC Pro Tour history

A special milestone for the PDC. The Baltic Sea Darts Open in Kiel this weekend is the 700th tournament in the history of the PDC Pro Tour. The first Pro Tour tournament was played nearly 22 years ago.

The first ever Pro Tour tournament was a UK Open Qualifier in 2002. Phil Taylor managed to win that tournament by beating Roland Scholten in the final. Taylor would eventually win 21 of the total 118 UK Open Qualifiers played.

The bulk of the 700 Pro Tour tournaments were Players Championship tournaments, 466 of them. Taylor is also the record holder there with 45 titles. Michael van Gerwen follows behind with 34 Players Championship titles.

Van Gerwen did win the most Euro Tour titles. Of the 115 Euro Tour tournaments, 36 were won by "Mighty Mike. Close behind are Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright, both with eight titles.

Moreover, Van Gerwen has also won the most Pro Tour tournaments overall. Of the previous 699 Pro Tour tournaments, 86 were won by Van Gerwen. Phil Taylor is stuck on 70 Pro Tour titles, followed by Gary Anderson with 36 Pro Tour titles.
