The first matches of the 27th Players Championship of the season are set with Dave Chisnall continuing a barren run and many of the big names finding their way through.
Chisnall who is number one seed on the ProTour this season has had a dreadful week and averaged only 74 as he lost out to Jamie Clark who will now have a big chance in the top of the draw alongside James Wade.
There were wins though for Josh Rock, Gary Anderson, Michael Smith, Rob Cross, Luke Humphries, Damon Heta and Peter Wright with the top display though coming from Stephen Bunting with 105 against Stephen Burton.
Only Joe Cullen, Krzysztof Ratajski and Chisnall out of the top 16 seeds did not make it out of Round One in the first few matches. While it appears after making the final, Gerwyn Price will not return this week or at least today.
