Barry who since joining the competition last Thursday with a second place has since won both leagues on Friday and Saturday claimed the first day of Phase Four with eight points.

The 18-year-old saw off Martin Adams in an exceptional display where he hit a timely 180-139 checkout in the decider to win 5-4. His first and only defeat of the day came following that as Dave Parletti came from 3-1 down to win 5-3.

A return to form followed then for the rest of the day as he saw off Jose Justicia (5-1) with a 97.5 average and 71 percent on the doubles. Then he defeated Boris Koltsov (5-2) but a straight shootout was to follow against Jarred Cole.

It was one he won 5-4 with a 142 checkout in the deciding leg as the JDC and BDO World Youth Champion cemented an excellent run.

There will be 15 games a day which will be best of 9 legs with two Pools set to be involved as usual. It begins everyday as a result at 10:30 am running till 5:00 pm and sees live action continue.
