Brilliant Beaton into first ProTour final in five years, set to face Wade at Players Championship 30

Steve Beaton could be on his way to a very popular return to the winners' circle shortly in Barnsley after reaching the final of Players Championship 30.

At the start of the day, his Minehead and Ally Pally spot wasn't confirmed but he could now leave Barnsley with £12,000 more added to his ranking after reaching his first final in five years.

He saw off Dave Chisnall 7-4 and will now face James Wade. It would be a first since 2020 for 'The Machine' albeit he will still have to go to the Grand Slam qualifier tomorrow.
