The PDC has again released an alternative world ranking. This takes into account only the last 200 legs played by each Tour Card holder. And that yields a pretty surprising number 1.
On the official world rankings he is only in 43rd place, but the first place on this alternative world rankings is held by Cameron Menzies. The Scottish partner of Fallon Sherrock has been in excellent form in recent weeks and achieved an average of 99.80 during his last 200 legs played. No one on the Pro Tour did better in terms of his doubles percentage of 42.84 either.
Second in this alternative world ranking is Luke Littler, ranked No. 22 in the world in the official Order of Merit. 'The Nuke' achieved an average of 99.05 and a doubles percentage of 39.54 during his last 200 legs played. So Littler continues to do a great job in his first season on the Pro Tour.
Completing the top three in these alternative world rankings is Chris Dobey. 'Hollywood,' who is ranked 13th in the official Order of Merit, achieved an average of 98.99 and a double-percentage of 40.77 during his last 200 legs played.
A bit striking perhaps is that we find the current world number one, Luke Humphries, in only fourth place on this alternative world ranking. 'Cool Hand Luke,' who won the World Matchplay just last month, achieved an average of 98.23 during his last 200 legs played and a doubles percentage of 42.47.
The only Dutchman in the top ten of these alternative world rankings can be found in sixth place. That is not entirely surprising Michael van Gerwen, who is quietly resurfacing after a difficult period and reached the final at the World Matchplay just last month. 'Mighty Mike' achieved an average of 97.82 and a doubles percentage of 36.40 during his last 200 legs played.
