Clemens on potential World Matchplay qualification: "I’m in a good position and let’s see how the five tournaments run for me.”

Gabriel Clemens lost out to Nico Kurz in qualification for the PDC World Championship but due to his form which has seen him become one of the most consistent players on the PDC Tour, he is not worried about qualifying for the showpiece event at the Alexandra Palace.

“I’m in a good position. Therefore, I strongly assume that I will somehow qualify for the World Championships. In an emergency there is still a qualifier for us Tour Card Holders," said Clemens to DartsWorld.

Next though on his radar is the World Matchplay with 'The German Giant' where he could make his debut and while he has his spot at the moment, he is not resting on his laurels.

“Of course I want to go there. I think everyone wants to participate. That’s a goal for everyone. I’m in a good position and let’s see how the five tournaments run for me," he continued.

He also spoke about the return with the Summer Series and he believes it will be evident who hasn't been putting the work in: “I believe that we will then see who has done much and who has done little, who is professional and who is not."

“Some will lose their good form, others will be in very good shape, because they’ve practised a lot."
