Van der Voort doesn't expect many surprises during PDC Summer Series: "Ultimately, the top players will come to the surface"

The PDC circuit will resume on Wednesday with the PDC Summer Series and for Vincent van der Voort, he is looking forward to it.

Van der Voort has kept busy despite being mainly forced to stay at home by like many using Netflix but also practising with Michael van Gerwen but with five Players Championship tournaments in Milton Keynes beginning proceedings, it all begins again: "It will take some getting used to," agrees the popular Dutchman in an interview with DartsNews.

“Now I had no pressure on my shoulders for three months. When it starts again you are busy with it in your head. There is more stress and the daily ritual changes. I am looking forward to starting again. ”

With the World Matchplay approaching, it will quickly become clear during the PDC Summer Series which players have used their practice time wisely. According to Van der Voort, some players may surprise or disappoint, but he does not expect very special results when the circuit resumes.

“Ultimately, the top players will come to the surface. I don't expect it to change very much. Maybe there are a few who have not trained much in the past months and a few that surprise. But you always have. In recent years, the Pro Tour results have become increasingly surprising. Some surprising names that come a long way, but in the end it is often the top players who win."
