Conclusion of race for 2024 World Darts Championship nears: These are the standings with 2 Pro Tours to go

On Nov. 1 and 2, the final two Players Championship tournaments of the season will be played. The field for both tournaments consists of 128 players each. For PDC players, these two Players Championships are the last opportunities to qualify for the World Darts Championship in December via the Pro Tour.

As you would expect, all of the top stars in the sport are already more than comfortably qualified. The likes of Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall, Danny Noppert, Jonny Clayton, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Rob Cross are currently in the top-10 of the standings.

Looking down the list, Madarz Razma currently sits in the 32nd position, the last guaranteed spot for World Darts Championship qualification. The Latvian's lead over the highest-ranked player not currently seeded, Alan Soutar is very slim. The world number 33 is ranked 40th in the Pro Tour rankings and will have to work this week to make it to the World Championship for the third year in a row.

Other notable names currently outside of World Darts Championship placement are Vincent van der Voort and Mervyn King. Both players have participated in all editions of the World Championship since 2008, but have since dropped out of the world's top-32. Mensur Suljovic, who has 15 World Championship appearances in the PDC to his name, is also currently outside of the qualification spots.

For Tour Card holders who did not make it to the World Darts Championship via the world rankings or the Pro Tour, there is another PDPA qualifying tournament at the end of the year, where four starting spots for the Alexandra Palace are available.
