A field of 24 ladies will compete for the women's world title at Lakeside from Dec. 2 through Dec. 10. Top favourite is Beau Greaves, who won the tournament last year with relative ease.
The 19-year-old Englishwoman faces competition this year from the likes of Aileen de Graaf, Lisa Ashton and Deta Hedman. Top players Fallon Sherrock and Mikuru Suzuki are missing. They will compete in the PDC World Darts Championship later in December. Greaves had also qualified for that tournament, but chose to play at Lakeside.
Other well-known players competing include Rhian O'Sullivan, Lorraine Winstanley and Laura Turner, who were also regulars at the PDC Women's Series last season.
