The PDC
World Darts Championship will start on Wednesday 15 December with
Rob Cross being the 11th seed and taking on the winner of Raymond van Barneveld and Lourence Ilagan.
Looking back to 2018, he went all the way on his debut seeing off Phil Taylor 7-2. "Probably the best night of my life. He's just a phenomenal guy and to win it against him, he hasn't lost many finals. He's been the king of it," he said in a PDC feature.
"I practiced so much at set play, I was ready for the tournament. I've always been stopped by Van Gerwen, he's beat me in a leg format every time. I always felt like I was a throw ahead in the game.
He also discussed the effect of winning the title and that his best is just round the corner again.
"It just changes your life overnight. It's purely magical. You don't realise until you win it. I think that this man who won is just round the corner."
