Danny Noppert blames defeat on lack of sharpness: ''The focus was not good''

Danny Noppert could not hold his own against Stephen Bunting in the second round of the Grand Slam of Darts on Thursday evening. The Dutchman suffered a hopeless 10-4 defeat against the former Lakeside champion.
It was not a good match from Noppert, who managed to throw an average of only 85. Things did not go well on the doubles either. 'The Freeze' recorded a finishing percentage of only 14.8 percent (4/27).

''From the beginning of the match I noticed it was going to be tough. I just wasn't comfortable in it,'' was Noppert's initial reaction afterwards in conversation with Viaplay.
''I did have little moments that I was there for a while, but I rarely come to show myself today. It is what it is. What's the reason for that? Yes, focus... The focus was not good,'' Noppert concluded.

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
