Michael van Gerwen managed to win four major tournaments in 2022. In the Premier League Darts and at the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and Players Championship Finals, 'Mighty Mike' took the win.

Only in 2016 did Van Gerwen previously manage to win these four tournaments in the same year. He then took the world title at the subsequent 2017 World Darts Championship.

A precursor of a fourth world title for Van Gerwen at the 2023 World Darts Championship?
