Fallon Sherrock will have one mission in mind this weekend and that is returning to the Grand Slam of Darts as the top ranked player not qualified from the PDC
Women's Series and she has started in the best way possible.
Sherrock won Event 21 on Saturday afternoon taking down Vicky Pruim 5-0. A surprise finalist who saw off Beau Greaves to blow the tournament wide open, the Queen of the Palace produced a supreme display averaging 96.35 in seeing off the Swede to seal the title.
It is a third of the season and closes the gap to within £300 to Mikuru Suzuki with three events left to play with one today and two on Sunday. The Milton Keynes thrower is basically assured of an Ally Pally return with Lisa Ashton pulling out due to playing Lakeside.
A fate similar to Beau Greaves who is still playing this weekend, but won't be at Ally Pally. This means that Suzuki and Sherrock are in pole position, with the Wolverhampton spot the main focus.
The ladies can earn prize money with their results. These performances count toward the final rankings. The best player gets to compete at the Grand Slam of Darts, while the top-2 (behind Greaves) also gets an invitation to the World Darts Championship. The event also counts toward the qualification cycle toward the Women's World Matchplay in 2024. The top eight of this ranking may compete in that tournament.
