Draw for 2024 Zwaantje Masters announced including Gian van Veen, Ross Smith and Ian White

On Saturday, August 10, the next edition of the Zwaantje Masters will be played in Eindhoven. This tournament traditionally has a strong and international field of participants. The draw for the Zwaantje Masters 2024 has already been made.

The past two editions of the Swan Masters were won by Ian White. 'The Diamond' will travel to the Netherlands again in August to try to defend his title. White will face competition from a number of other well-known and big names in the darts world. Among others, Ross Smith, Damian Mol, Jermaine Wattimena, Owen Roelofs, Gian van Veen, Wessel Nijman, Jules van Dongen, Jerry Hendriks, Jeffrey Sparidaans, Max Hopp, Wesley Plaisier, Ian White and Scott Waites will make their appearance during this tournament.

The field of participants consists of a total of 42 players. Seven groups of six players each have been created. They first play against each other in pool format. The top two from each group and the top two numbers three then advance to the knockout stage. The remaining sixteen names then continue to compete for the title.

By now, 29 of the 42 participants have been announced. There are still eleven spots to be divided via a local ranking. Furthermore, there is still a qualification tournament to be played and the organization has a wildcard in its pocket.

Ross Smith, as the world number 11, is on paper the biggest name in the field of participants. He has entered Group 1 and will play against Damian Mol, among others. Jermaine Wattimena, Owen Roelofs and Willem Mandigers are in Group 2, while Gian van Veen and Wessel Nijman are the two big names in Group 3.

Group 4 includes such familiar names as Jules van Dongen, Jerry Hendriks and Jeffrey Sparidaans. Group 5 includes Max Hopp and Wesley Plaisier, while defending champion Ian White is in Group 6. Two-time Lakeside champion Scott Waites is the big name in Group 7.
