Durrant ends barren run of 17 defeats in a row with PDC Super Series 5 victory

Glen Durrant has finally ended a barren run of defeats with his first victory recorded since March on the third day at PDC Super Series 5.

Durrant was too strong with a 6-4 win over Joe Cullen during Players Championship 19 and despite only hitting a 84 average, it will be a huge confidence boost for the former Premier League champion.

His last win prior to this tournament came in the sixth Players Championship tournament, where he defeated Chas Barstow in the first round.

The three-time Lakeside champion then lost to Gino Vos in the second round, followed by seven consecutive defeats in ProTour tournaments and nine defeats in the Premier League Darts. Durrant therefore became the first player to leave the competition with zero points.
