Michael van Gerwen's 2021 title wait will continue for another day and could go into the World Matchplay after the Green Machine has fell at the first round stage on Day Three of PDC Super Series 5.
Van Gerwen spoke on Twitter prior to the day starting about stopping making silly mistakes when he is control and playing well but he came up against a super impressive display from Woodhouse who averaged 98.44 to win 6-3.
While for the other big names, it has been more plain sailing with Gerwyn Price easing past Jose Justicia 6-1, Peter Wright seeing off Madars Razma 6-2 and Jose de Sousa edging past William Borland 6-4.
