Glen Durrant marked a successful debut at the 2020 PDC World Championship with victory over Damon Heta in one of the top ties on Saturday night at the Alexandra Palace.
Durrant spoke afterwards about his mindset going into the game and admitted that nerves definitely played a factor and that he could sense Sherrock was about to take to the stage.
He also spoke about a player who held him unexpectedly who he has feuded with; as well as a potential tie which could await him with North East bragging rights.
"I think that's the most nervous I've been. I can't think of a time I've been more nervous going into a match. What a stage, an insane atmosphere I say to everybody you have to come to Ally Pally," said Durrant to LiveDarts.
"I could sense that Fallon was next on stage. Me and Damon are slow players so we were never going to excite the crowd but I could sense a real anticipation in the crowd. It was everything I thought it would be and more."
"I did a lot of exhibition work. I couldn't believe the luck I had with my schedule and of all the people that could have helped me, Matt Edgar. I've had a bit of banter with him on Twitter. He felt my balance was wrong."
"I have a dream to play Chris Dobey in the Last 16. A Smoggy against a Geordie and I would leather him!," he joked.
