Former PDC president Mike Titmus has passed away

The PDC has announced the death of former PDC chairman Mike Titmus. Titmus was president of the PDC in 2000 and 2001, after which Barry Hearn took over the position.

After that, Titmus became the first chairman of the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA). This body serves as the disciplinary committee at the PDC. In recent years, Mike was responsible for liaising with DRA organizations worldwide and served as secretary of the board, a position he held until November 2023.

PDC director Matt Porter expressed his condolences to the bereaved family on the PDC website. ''Mike was well-liked within the sport and had a wealth of experience both as a sponsor and then administrator. He came to the PDC at a key moment in our history and helped to shape the organisation's future when Barry Hearn came on board. Mike remained involved through his work with the DRA and always retained a keen interest in supporting and encouraging the growth of the modern game. He was a popular figure around our events and always brought a smile and positive approach with him. We will miss him and send our condolences to Mike's family and friends."
