𝗡𝗢 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗡! Edward Foulkes unfazed on his Ally Pally debut as he reaches the second round without dropping a set against Mike De Decker! 📺 Up next 👉 Ryan Murray v Lourence Ilagen
Edward Shoji Foulkes was an unknown before his debut at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship but has now made people take notice after a stunning victory over Mike de Decker at the Alexandra Palace.
Foulkes who came through the PDJ Japan Qualifier followed his compatriot Toru Suzuki who lost out to Madars Razma but it was a straight sets victory as he sets up a second round tie against Brendan Dolan.
To begin the tie against De Decker, it was a dream start as he sealed the opening set 3-0 with a 102.5 average and a high checkout of 140 showing real composure despite it being his first time on the stage.
The Belgian was being punished for poor doubling stats with only 13% as Foulkes average dropped to 93 but a 3-1 set win saw him on the verge of a first win.
De Decker looked to return to the foray in the tie as he went 2-1 up with a 117 checkout to move towards a first set but Foulkes held his throw to send it all the way.
A 180 and a 25 checkout won it for Foulkes and he will look to continue that form against 'The History Maker'.
