At
Players Championship 19, which took place Sunday in Barnsley as was eventually won by Callan Rydz, there was a career-first for four players.
Indeed, four players managed to win their board finals at a Players Championship for the first time this year, meaning they survive at least the third round. They were
Vladimir Andersen,
Robert Owen,
Arron Monk and
Cameron Menzies.
Andersen, Owen and Monk went down a round later, but Menzies eventually made it to the quarterfinals. The partner of Fallon Sherrock went down 6-4 to James Wade, but did register the highest average of the day during his run.
