Leonard Gates dumped out Fallon Sherrock as the first PDC representative fell at the
US Darts Masters averaging only 71 in a 6-2 defeat.
'Soldier' known as one of the USA's best players is only looking forward now and will now play Peter Wright as he aims to cause more upsets in a day where he will also play in the North American Championship.
"It's a great feeling right now. Much respect to Fallon and what she's done for ladies darts but it's not over yet, we've got more to play," said Gates to Dan Dawson and Emma Paton post match.
"It means a lot for right now but I know it's only a step. It's unbelievable right now, the crowd the fans, everyone is here supporting. Let's try and do something this year.
He won't leave no stone unturned in facing Wright as he joked that he will be practicing all night.
"I'm not going to sleep tonight. I'm going to practice all night tonight."
